Faculty of Engineering Unhas Refines Preparation for Field Assessment of New Study Programs



Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University (Unhas) continues to show its commitment in improving the quality of higher education in Indonesia. In an effort to realize this, the Faculty of Engineering is aggressively preparing Field Assessment (AL) for two new study programs, namely Bachelor (S1) Geodesy Engineering and Master (S2) Marine Engineering.
To ensure the smoothness of the accreditation process, the Faculty of Engineering recently held a AL preparation meeting attended by a number of important officials. The meeting, which was chaired by the Chairperson of the Quality Assurance and Reputation Improvement Cluster of the Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University, was attended by the Deputy Dean for Planning, Resources and Alumni, Deputy Dean for Partnership, Research and Innovation, Secretary of the Quality Assurance and Reputation Improvement Cluster, Manager of Research and Innovation, Secretary of the Department of Civil Engineering and Team, and Chairperson and Secretary of the Department of Marine Engineering and Team.
The Chairperson of the Quality Assurance and Reputation Improvement Group of the Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University in his remarks said, “Careful preparation is needed to face this Field Assessment. By involving all relevant stakeholders, we are optimistic that we can fulfill all the requirements set by the Engineering Self Accreditation Institute (LAMTEK).”
The meeting agenda included:
- Evaluation of document readiness: The team rechecked all documents required for the accreditation process, such as the Study Program Performance Report (LKPS), Self Evaluation Report (LED), curriculum, and other supporting data.
- Coordination of facility preparation: The team checked the completeness and readiness of laboratory, library, and classroom facilities that will be used in the learning process.
- Discussion of communication strategies: The team discussed effective communication strategies to convey information related to accreditation preparation to the entire academic community and other stakeholders.
Dr.Eng. Bambang Bakri, ST, MT. Secretary of the Department of Civil Engineering added, “We are very enthusiastic to welcome this Field Assessment. These new study programs are designed with reference to the latest developments in science and technology, as well as the needs of the job market. We are confident that graduates of these two study programs will be able to compete at the national and international levels.”
With careful preparation and support from all parties, the Faculty of Engineering Unhas is optimistic that these two new study programs will get good accreditation from LAMTEK. This will further strengthen Unhas’ position as one of the best universities in Indonesia.
